Sushi Q in Nevada City

This is certainly one of the most pleasant place to eat in the region. Whenever I visit this place I am so happy. They maintain their very high standard service and the highest level of meals they offer. You definitely will enjoy this this place. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Nevada City for good reason! The food hear is exellent, and the vibe and service here are charming!

Amazing local sushi!!

An ok place to get sushi in the foothills. I really enjoyed their pickled appetizer, but the wife didn't. Docked one star because I felt the prices were too high.

My favorite roll is always reliably excellent and they are very accommodating to vegans and vegetarians, food is always fresh!!

Best Sushi ever, loved it I will definitely go back.

I have been coming here for years and always had a good experience. Tonight i came in and asked the hostess for a seat at the sushi bar which was not set yet. I noticed some rice pieces and other small food bits on the bar. Just then the hostess flicked the food particles on to the floor, and proceded to seat me.I found that a bit apauling, and asked her to wipe down the bar for me. She did a quick wipe with a rag , halfheartedly , and left the aforementioned rice bits , which at the time i am writing this are still next to me. My waitress is attentive and friendly. My hamachi toro is very good, although not excellent.

Great food great date night place

The food was good, but the staff took one look at us and decided we were just dirt being tracked into their fancy restaurant. They were very short with us and treated us like we didn't belong there. We are a middle class family who just had a day at the snow and drove two hours out of the way to try a different sushi restaurant. I know the next time we do that, we won't be going there.

Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine! All of the sushi rolls and other food items are made fresh. The service is amazing and the smooth jazz playing is very soothing. I will definitely be coming back again!!!

Favorite Sushi in Nevada City. One of the very few sushi chefs that make his own tamago. Always busy but good friendly service. Nice collection of various grades / types of sake. Make a reservation for most nights as it's usually booked.

Omg, how is there better Sushi in the Sierra Nevada Foothills than in Santa Cruz County...um, wow. So happy to eat here again and again, absolutely delicious, super fresh fish and affordable.

This is the place to get genuine Sushi in Nevada County, and it is better than most places in large cities that make a claim to being sushi restaurants. Toki-san and his nephew do it right. And, of course, Kumiko-san, the O-kami of the establishment makes sure that all who work there learn Japanese standards for service. We have always celebrated our wins and cried over our losses with a visit to Sushi Q for about 20 years. You will love this place!

Seems like the place for locals, rolls are well priced and good quality but won't blow your mind, average service.

Ive eatin here many times...nice staff usually excellent sushi but had a piece of rotten fish last night!!!! Foamy and soft, yuck! Unless theres a fish that ive never tried before that supposed to taste that way, doubt it. Make sure to take charcel lol

Absolutely one of my favorite sushi places. Very classy, love the decor, the service is always great. Nice variety of menu items including my fav veggie roll of all time!!! Kitchen dishes are high quality as well.

Good food but slow service

Rice wasn't so tasty and salmon a bit frozen...but service was good (at least to my boyfriend) and the place is cozy with soft music alright..

My favorite sushi!!!

Food was so delicious!! We didn't have a reservation but the hostess was kind enough to seat us. Waitress was okay. My bf and I shared a salad to start and she kind of gave us an attitude when we wanted new plates for our main meal. I didn't think it was such a huge request, I just didn't want to mix the flavors of the leftover salad dressing with the sushi rolls we got. Overall a good experience and would definitely go back.

Drunken Quail Egg Shooters are epic!! Mango ones are yumm too. I say go for some of the fanciest rolls, way more satisfying! Definitely need to make reservations, they do not entertain weekend walk-ins.

Sushi Q is the best everyday sushi spot in Nevada City. Toki gets fresh fish from the bay area every day, and you can tell it's a labor of love. Everything here is amazing. My favorite is Fox Roll, and ask for it Lomi Style. The flavors and ingredients are fresh and unmasked by mayo and gross sauces. The salmon belly is incredible. The spicy miso soup is amazing. The beer is cold, and the saki is plentiful. If you find yourself in our glorious little mountain town, you've gotta come here for the freshes fish.

Nice cuts with a friendly staff

Cozy place. Waitress are attentive and make great suggestions if you are looking for something new to try. The sea-weed salad is soooooo good! Most everything I've had there is delicious, except shrimp (I just don't have a taste for shrimp in general.) I come here and eat till I'm stuffed for about 25 bucks with no alcohol.

Noisy but fun, cozy atmosphere. Great sushi, surprisingly fresh fish and friendly staff. The fair rivals the better sushi joints in Sacramento. They do have Hamachi Kama on the menu, it was very tasty.
